Take the World Stroke Day Pledge to End Stroke

  • Share the F.A.S.T. Infographic (download more infographic options) with my friends and family, specifically in my social media channels, on World Stroke Day, October 29th. I will teach everyone I can how to recognize the warning signs of a stroke – Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, Time to call 9-1-1.

  • Download and share the free F.A.S.T. Mobile App so I can have lifesaving tools at my fingertips. If I am ever faced with a stroke emergency, this app can help me remember how to save a life and locate a stroke certified hospital near me.

  • Tell Congress that stroke survivors on Medicare deserve better. If Congress does not act before next spring, stroke patients on Medicare will face limits on the outpatient therapy needed to regain vital skills, like walking and talking. The typical Medicare beneficiary has a $1,900 therapy cap. On average, that amounts to a single evaluation and just 19 outpatient therapy sessions. However, stroke survivors often need 3-5 therapy sessions a week, which means they’d reach the caps in less than two months. We must do better for these survivors! Tell Congress to remove this harmful cap on stroke patients once-and-for-all!
