Since 2009, the American Heart Association has worked with The Joint Commission to offer Advanced Certification in Heart Failure. This certification recognizes hospitals that have achieved high standards for treatment of heart failure patients, demonstrated by Bronze-level or higher performance in the Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure program as well as compliance with The Joint Commission standards.

The American Heart Association is partnering with the Society of Chest Pain Centers to offer Mission: Lifeline® STEMI Receiving Center accreditation. This accreditation identifies hospitals that meet STEMI treatment criteria set by the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline program. Accreditation provided by the Society of Chest Pain Centers.

The American Heart Association and the Society of Chest Pain Centers are joining forces to offer Mission: Lifeline® STEMI Referral Center accreditation. Hospitals that serve as Referral Centers in established Mission: Lifeline systems of care are eligible to earn this accreditation for high standards of performance in prompt diagnosis and transfer of STEMI patients.
